CLASS EXPERIMENTS: CONDUCTION. CONDUCTORS AND INSULATORS

Sara, our teacher from the university, is teaching us the difference between the objects which are conductors and the objects which are insulators through the following experiments.

We make an electric circuit using a battery, some wires and a small light bulb

Miguel wants to know if his scissors are conductors or insulators. He connects the scissors to the circuit and we see that they conduct energy because the light bulb works: metal is a conductor.

Ana wants to know if her pencil is a conductor or an insulator. She connects the pencil to the circuit and we see that they don't conduct energy because the light bulb doesn't work: wood or plastic are insulators.
